About these terms
These terms govern use of the Jewish Moments UK website, free reminder service, guidance library, greeting helper, downloadable cards and any optional support feature that is enabled. By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
The operator's legal identity and service address will be published in the panel above before signup or payment functions are enabled. General enquiries can be sent to hello@jewishmoments.co.uk.
Who may use the service
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of agreeing to these terms. You may use the service personally or on behalf of an organisation if you have authority to bind that organisation. Workplace and school material is general planning guidance and does not replace your organisation's legal, HR, safeguarding or equality advice.
What the free service provides
Subscribers can choose occasions and receive reminders containing a date, short explanation, suggested wording and a link to a digital greeting or card. The subscriber receives the message and decides whether, when and with whom to share it. We do not send to recipients on a subscriber's behalf.
The core reminder service is currently intended to be free. We may add, change, pause or retire features, but we will not turn an existing optional newsletter choice into permission for marketing.
Dates, local times and religious guidance
Jewish dates begin in the evening and local candle-lighting and ending times vary by location, season and custom. We use reputable UK and Jewish-community sources and identify review dates, but calendar data, customs, transliterations and interpretations can differ.
Content is general information, not religious, legal, tax, employment, medical or professional advice. For observance, bereavement, workplace duties or another important decision, check the current local time and consult an appropriate rabbi, community, adviser or official source. Do not rely on an email reminder as the only record of a critical deadline.
Reminder timing and email delivery
We aim to send reminders before the selected occasion, commonly seven to ten days beforehand. This is a target, not a guaranteed delivery time. Delivery can be delayed or prevented by incorrect details, spam filtering, provider outages, security checks or events beyond reasonable control.
You are responsible for keeping your email address and choices current, checking spam folders and maintaining an alternative calendar for anything important. We may send essential confirmation, security, service-change or legal notices needed to operate your account.
Reminder consent and optional marketing
Requested reminders and optional editorial or promotional emails are separate. Signing up for reminders does not automatically subscribe you to the newsletter, supporter appeals, sponsorship, advertising or future offers.
If you separately opt in to marketing, you can unsubscribe at any time. We will not hide promotions inside a practical service message to avoid the marketing rules. Please see the privacy policy for lawful bases and your rights.
Future products and marketing services
In future, Jewish Moments UK may offer optional physical or print-on-demand cards, premium designs, workplace or school resources, memberships, paid newsletter editions, sponsored or affiliate content, advertising, or marketing and promotional services for relevant businesses, creators, charities or community organisations.
Any paid, sponsored, affiliate or promotional material will be identified where required. New paid products or services will have clear prices, main characteristics, delivery information, cancellation or renewal terms and any offer-specific conditions before purchase. We will not use reminder-service consent as permission to send those offers.
Your responsibilities and acceptable use
You must not misuse the service. In particular, you must not:
- submit another person's contact details without a lawful basis and appropriate authority;
- use cards or wording to harass, deceive, discriminate, impersonate or break the law;
- probe security, introduce malicious code, overload the site, scrape it at scale or bypass access controls;
- resell free content, remove notices or branding, or imply our endorsement of a person, organisation, product or political view;
- use the service to build or enrich profiles about a person's religion.
We may suspend or block use reasonably believed to be unlawful, harmful, abusive or a threat to the service.
Content and intellectual property
The site design, logo, original copy, illustrations, card designs, software and compilation are owned by or licensed to the operator and protected by intellectual-property law. Third-party names and materials remain their owners' property.
We give you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive licence to copy suggested greetings and download and share free cards for personal, family, educational or internal workplace use. You may not sell, sublicense, mass-distribute, modify for resale, train a model on, or commercially exploit the content without written permission.
If you voluntarily provide feedback or suggestions, you allow us to use them without payment or attribution, but you keep ownership of any rights you already hold.
External links and suppliers
The site may link to calendars, community sources, WhatsApp, email software, MailerLite, Stripe or other third parties. Their services and privacy practices are controlled by them. A link does not imply endorsement, and we are not responsible for third-party content or availability. Check the provider's terms before using it.
Optional support payments
Support payments are voluntary contributions to the operation of the service. They are not charitable donations, are not eligible for Gift Aid and do not buy extra access to the free core service.
One-time support is charged once. Yearly support renews at the interval and amount shown at checkout until cancelled. Stripe will process payment details. We will provide a simple cancellation route for recurring support. Duplicate or mistaken payments should be reported promptly; refunds and statutory rights will be honoured where applicable.
If we later sell a product, digital content or service, the checkout information and any product-specific terms will govern that purchase in addition to these terms. Nothing here removes rights that UK consumer law says cannot be excluded.
Availability, changes and ending access
We may maintain, change, suspend or discontinue all or part of the free service. Where reasonably practicable, we will give subscribers notice of a material change. You can stop using the site or unsubscribe at any time. We may end access for serious or repeated breach, unlawful use, security risk or where continued provision is no longer reasonably possible.
Our responsibility to you
We use reasonable care and skill in preparing and operating the service. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, breach of statutory consumer rights, or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, for business loss, or for a failure caused by information or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
If you use the service for business purposes, to the fullest extent permitted by law we exclude liability for loss of profit, revenue, business, opportunity, goodwill or anticipated saving, and indirect or consequential loss. Subject to the non-excludable liabilities above, our total aggregate liability to a business user arising in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of £100 and the amount that user paid us in that period.
The reminder service is a convenience. Our responsibility is not increased because a user chose not to keep another calendar, check a current source or obtain appropriate professional advice.
General legal terms
If a court finds part of these terms unlawful, the remaining terms continue. A delay in enforcing a right does not waive it. No person other than you and the operator has a right to enforce these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside reasonable control, but will take reasonable steps to reduce the effect. We may transfer our rights and obligations as part of a genuine business transfer if this does not reduce your rights; you may not transfer yours without written consent.
Governing law and complaints
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you keep any mandatory protections of your home jurisdiction and may bring proceedings in the courts available to you under applicable law. Business disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
If something goes wrong, contact us with the relevant details. We aim to acknowledge a complaint within five working days and give a substantive response within 14 days. We do not currently subscribe to a specific alternative-dispute-resolution scheme.
Changes to these terms and contact
We may update these terms for legal, security or service changes. The latest version and effective date will appear here. A material change affecting subscribers will be communicated reasonably in advance where practicable; changes do not retrospectively remove accrued consumer rights.
Contact us at hello@jewishmoments.co.uk. The operator's service address will be shown above before subscriptions or payments open.
